Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

POURPIN ("the Service") is operated by bykamo, an indie studio based in Japan. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

POURPIN is a personal wine logging application that allows users to:

  • Record and track wines they have tasted
  • Add photos, ratings, and notes to wine entries
  • View their wine history on a map
  • Read wine labels from photos with AI, with your consent
  • Earn badges and track streaks
  • Share a wine with others through a link

3. User Accounts

You can try POURPIN without an account (a guest can keep a few wines on the device). To sync your records and use Premium, you create an account with Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us of any unauthorized use

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (photos, notes, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a license to store and display it as part of the Service.

You agree not to submit content that:

  • Violates any laws or regulations
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains harmful or malicious code

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission

6. POURPIN Premium (Subscriptions)

POURPIN Premium is an optional, auto-renewable subscription with a monthly plan and a yearly plan. The current prices and the Premium features are shown in the app before you buy. Premium is tied to your POURPIN account, so you need to be signed in to buy it.

  • Purchases in the iOS app: Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store account settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions). Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
  • Purchases on the website: Payment is processed by Stripe and the subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your account settings on the website.
  • After you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Your records are not deleted when Premium ends; adding new records beyond the free limit is restricted.

7. Fair Use Policy

Premium lets you keep up to 1,000 wine records for personal use (the free plan keeps up to 30). Label scanning and wine information lookups have daily or monthly limits shown in the app. To keep the Service working well for everyone, the following also applies:

  • Personal Use Only: The Service is intended for individual wine enthusiasts to log their personal wine experiences. Commercial use, bulk uploads for third parties, or reselling of data is not permitted.
  • Reasonable Usage: Automated bulk uploads, scraping, or any activity that places excessive load on our servers may be rate-limited or restricted.
  • Image Storage: Images should be of wine labels, bottles, or related content. Uploading unrelated content or using the Service as general file storage is not permitted.

We reserve the right to limit or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines. If you believe your usage is within fair use but have been restricted, please contact us.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may also delete your account at any time through the app settings.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. App Store Terms

If you downloaded POURPIN from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA) also applies to your use of the app. These Terms are between you and bykamo, not Apple, and bykamo, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content, maintenance and support.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
