Why we built it

Public review sites are noisy. Your taste gets buried under everyone else’s ratings.
We wanted something different: a private, personal list of wines you’d actually want to drink again—without chasing other people’s opinions. That’s why we made POURPIN.

The core flow: log a bottle in 3 steps

Scan → Confirm → Rate

Step 1: Take a label photo (optional)
Snap the wine label. POURPIN will try to read it from the front or back (and you can always correct it).

Step 2: Confirm the wine info
Review and edit what was detected. Manual input is always available.

Step 3: Rate + Hints → Save
Give a 1–5 star rating and tap Hints (taste chips) if you want. Add a place and you’ll be able to rediscover it later in the Map tab.

Minimal required fields

You can save with just:

  • Wine name (AI Scan)
  • Producer (AI Scan)
  • Region / origin
  • Type (Red / White / Rosé / Sparkling / Dessert)
  • Rating (★ 1–5)

Optional (what helps you keep going):

  • Vintage
  • Price
  • Notes / Hints
  • Place (Home / Restaurant + venue name)
  • Photos

If you save the place, you can later browse “wines from that restaurant” inside the Map tab.

What you can export

Export is available in CSV/JSON.
Photos are included as public URLs, so you can reference and organize them in spreadsheets.
Note: photo/data deletion follows in-app deletion actions and your account settings.

Wine name / producer / origin / type, vintage / price, rating, hints, notes, place (venue name), photo URL, logged date

FAQ

Q: I’m not good at describing taste—what should I write?
A: You don’t have to write. Just tap Hints like “fruity,” “high acidity,” or “oaky” to build your own tasting note.

Q: What if the label scan fails?
A: Try these 3 tips:

  • Shoot straight-on
  • Use brighter light
  • Make sure it’s in focus
    If it still fails, manual input works. The scan is only there to help—and you can always edit results.

Q: Is 30 wines enough on the free plan?
A: At one bottle per week, 30 wines lasts about 7 months. If you log more—or want export—Premium is for you.

Q: What happens to my data?
A: Your logs are private. With Premium, you can export CSV/JSON and keep your data in your own hands.
